What I Ate Wednesday

I love Wednesdays.

Morning coffee

First of all, my kids have “late start” at school, so while they sleep in, I get to enjoy my coffee & reading/prayer time a bit longer.  Sometimes I wish I could sleep in, but usually I just relish the extra minutes.

Another good thing about waking up early is that it gives me time to eat before my bootcamps begin.  I’m not a fan of working out in a “fasted” state.  To me this makes no sense- why exercise with an exhausted supply of stored carbohydrate? Yes, we also burn fat, but fat is a secondary fuel, and it burns “in the flame of carbohydrate.”  In other words, we need some carbs in our system to efficiently burn fat.  Plus, if we eat a small snack or breakfast before working out, we’ll feel more energised, be able to work out harder, become more fit, and burn more calories in the process.  And what could be bad about that?…

I ask myself: Why has my blog been active for 6 weeks and in all my 15 posts I have yet to give you a salad recipe, when I eat salad ALL the time??  Some things make no sense.  I apologise, friends… I have been remiss.
